A London message announces the death of the Right Hon. Sir Thomas Frederick Halsey, father of Admiral Sir Lionel Halsey, at the age of 87. At a meeting of the committee of the Forbury Park Trotting Club at Dunedin last night, it was decided to appoint Mr. Rae Caffin (assistant secretary of the Dunedin Jockey Club and Forbury Trotting Club) as secretary of the trotting club.—(P.A.). “Mr. Williams is the right man in the right place,” declared Mr. W. Hob-son-fit the A. and P. reunion, last night when referring to the work of the Show secretary. The bride,, who was given away by her father, wore a charming gown of white georgette, with radium lace and pearls, and the usual wreath and veil. Miss Majorie Leech, step-sister of tho bridegroom, acted as bridesmaid, and was dressed in heliotrope, with silver lace. Little Stella Fleming and Doreen Livingstone, cousins of the bride, were and wore pretty dresses of pink crepe do chine with overdresses of cream lace and net trimmed with rosebuds, and wore mobcap veils. Mr. C. N. Cole was best man. The Rev. W. Bullock was tho officiating clergyman. After the ceremony a reception was held in Messrs Hugo and Shearer’s rooms. Tho young couple left for Christchurch on their honeymoon trip.
