CHEESE. New Zealand cheese market is slow, others steady. Official quotations are: English, finest fanners’, 108/- to 112/por cwt; Canadian, finest coloured and white, 98/- to 102/-, other qualities, 96/-; New Zealand, coloured 94/- to 95/-, white 93/- to 94/-; Australian, coloured, 92/- to 93/-. white 94/-, other qualities 91/- to 92/-. Shipments of New Zealand produce arrived this week per Otaki and Mamari. OTHER- PRODUCE. Tallow.—Continues quiet at lower rates. Present quotations per cwt. are: Mutton: Fine, 38/6 -to 39/-; fair to good, 36/- to 38/-; dark to dull, 34/- to 35/-. Beef: Sweet and/or mixed, 37/to 40/-; fair to r»ood, 35/- to 36/6; dark to dull, 33/6 to 34/-. Mixed: Fair to good, 34/6 to 36/6; dark to dull, 33/to 34/-. Gut, etc., 32/- to 33/-. Hemp.—Manila market quiet, but steady. Sellers quoted J grade Febru-ary-April shipments £45 10/-. Output January, 96,000 bales, same as previous January. Stocks in Manila on January 31, 102,000 against 130,000 bales same time last year. In Great Britain 4122 against 27,000. Sisal market dull and no demand for No. 1.. No. 2 FebruaryApril shipments offered £39 10/-. New Zealand market easy; no demahd. Wool.—Bradford market quiet. New business in yarn and piece goods developing very slowly. Present quotations per pound are: 60/64’s (merino) warp, 2/3; average. 2/2; 56’s (super halfbred) 2/9; 50’s fine crossbred), 20/2; 40’s prepared, 1/7-4.
