Moderate demand except for New Zealand which is generally neglected. Second-hand sellers of very finest brands, 170/. Good demand for secondary descriptions, which are in small supply. We quote: Danish, 188/ (188/); New Zealand, finest. 174/ (174); first, grade, 172/ (172/), Australian finest unsalted, 170/ <• 172/ (172/ to 174/); salted, 164/ to 168/ (168/ to 170/). Cheese: Wow Zealand cheese market alow; Canadian steady. We quote: 'New Zealand finest white 94/ (9*4/); coloured 95/ (95/); first grade white 93/ (93/): coloured 94/ (94-/). Spot priae for Canadian and coloured, 96/ to 100/ (94/ ‘to 100/). FROZEN MEAT. Dalgety and Cd., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated February 10: Lamb: Market unchanged. Demand runs principally on light weights. Mutton: New Zealand prime crossbred mutton, North Island light, 7Jd; heavy, 6Jd; market quiet, limited demand. Beef: New Zealand prime ox beef, hinds, 4|d; fores, 3fd. Market nominal, demand nil. Australian, frozen meat: Good average quality crossbred lamb, light, 7-kl; market weak; demand poor. Good average quality crossbred mutton, light, 41d. Market dull; moderate demand. Pork; Market unchanged; prices nominal. SHEEPSKIN SALES. I Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated February 10:— Sheepskin sales: Attendance of buyers good. As compared with closing rates of last sales, super fine Merino combing b per cent, to 74 per cent, higher, other descriptions Merino combings, 5 per cent, higher. Merino and crossbred clothing prices unchanged, demand slow. Fine crossbred combing 5 per* cent. higher; cent, higher. SMITHFIELD PRICES. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated. February 11, advising Smithfield delivered prices at that date as follows: — New Zealand wethers and maidens: Canterbury quality, selected brands (old season), u/56, 65/72, 5 7-8 d; other brands (new season), 57/64, 6 5-Bd, 65/72, 6d. New Zealand ewes: (old season), u/64, 4d. New Zealand lambs: Canterbury quality (-old season, u/36, lOd; 37/42, 8ld; 43/50, 7}d; seconds, 6fd. Selected brands, 37/42, not quoted; other brands, first quality (new season), u/42, 10|d; seconds, 9d. New Zealand beef: Ox fores, 3Jd; hinds, 4d. Argentine chilled beef: Ox fores, *3|d; hinds, 4ld. Argentine frozen beef: Ox fores, 3Jd; hinds, 4d. Frozen pork: 80/120 lbs., B.d; 120/ 1801bs, 7>d. Lamb: Market keeps firm. Limited supplies in good demand. Mutton market: Wethers are in short supply and nominal prices. market steady and unchanged. Beef: Market is depressed owing to heavy arrivals from Argentine.
