HIKORANGI SALE. The New Zealand Farmers 7 Co-opera-tive Distributing Co., Ltd., report on their Hikorangi sale as follows: We submitted a large yarding of good owes and wethers to a large attendance .of buyers. Some excellent lines of ewes were offered and these were purchased by local buyers, as also were the good lines of wethers. The following were the prices realised: On account of Hikorangi Station, 1279 3tooth wethers, 21/6; 221 2 and 4-tooth forward wethers, 22/10; 14 small 2•tooth wethers, IS/; 279 4-year ewes. 23/; 637 4-year do.. 21/6; 418 5-year •ewes, 17/6. On account of other ven dors: 2-tooth wethers, 18/1, 20/, 20/9 21/2; s.m. ewes, 14/6 to 16/3; cull ewes, 7/3, 8/6 to 10/; woolly wether lambs, 14/4, 16/3 to 17/1; b.f. lambs, 17/; shorn ewe lambs, 13/6. TAUMARUNUI EWE FAIR. TAUMARUNUI, February 8. The Taumarunui annual ewe fair today brqnght forward close on 30,000 sheep, which for the last two days have 'been arriving in town from all parts of .the district. The sheep grown in the King Country were hardy and do particularly well when removed to lower pastures, and this fact no doubt was responsible for the number of outside buyers present. The sale was dull at the start, but livened somewhat later in the day. The best price was for four-tooth ewes, 23/10. Four and fiveyear ewes brought 20/6, two-tooth ewes 22/3.—-(P.A.).
