A DANGEROUS PRACTICE.

AT FIRE CALLS. BIGHT OF ROAD TO BRIGADE . REQUESTED. The Superintendent /of the Masterton Fire Brigade (Mr. A. E. Freeman) requests that the public refrain from proceeding to fire calls, as if the practice is continued, a serious accident will occur sooner or later. On the occasion of the alarm last night, Superintendent Freeman stated, there must have been in the vicinity of a hundred cycles, motor cycles, and motor cars also proceeding to the call. This practice has been evident on several occasions recently, and the Superintendent asks that the brigade, while proceeding to a fire, should be given the right of the road. “It is hoped,” said Mr. Freeman,” that cyclists and motorists will discontinue this dangerous practice and heed the warning.”
