PRIMARY PRODUCE QUOTATIONS. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has received Hie following cable from its London office, dated February 4, advising Smithfield prices at that date as follows: New Zealand wethers and maidens: Canterbury quality, selected brands, u/56 (old season), 0 5-8 d; 65/72, 6d. Other brands (new season), u/56, 6jjd; 57/64, Old; 65/72, GJd. New Zealand ewes: (Old season), u/64, 4d. New Zealand lambs: Canterbury quality (old season), u/36, lOd; 37/42, S-ld; 43/50; 7Jd; seconds, 7d. Other brands, first quality (new season), u/ 42, 10}d; seconds, OJd. New Zealand beef: Ox fores, binds, 4d. Argentine chilled boef: Ox fores, 4d; hinds, 5Jd. Argentine frozen beef: Ox fores, 3}d; hinds, 4d. Frozen pork: 8/120 lbs., 8d; 120/ 180 lbs., 7Jd. Mutton market: Wethers steady with fair demand. There has been a better demand for ewes owing to reduction in prices. Bt-ef: Market has been over supplied with chilled beef. Increase in prices is only temporary and is owing to the fact that carrying steamers have been delay..l l.y bad weather. The New Zealand Loan and Mcrcan•til: Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house, dated February 4: New Zealand meat: Lamb —lOd per lb. (average). Mutton: Wether and maiden ewe, light, 6 5 8d Icr lb; heavy, 6 l-8d per lb. Ewe light, l-8d per lb; heavy, 3 7-8 d per lb; fair demand. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received tho- following cable from their London agents, dated February 4: Frozen meat Quotations (prices on a delivered basis): Down lambs, 28/42, lOld; per lb; ordinary North Island, lOd; second quality lambs, 9Jo; best North Island wethers, 48/64, 61(1; 64/72, 6d; ordinary do., 48/64, 61H; North Island ewes, 4d; 64/72, 3 7-Sd; New Zealand prime ox beef, 160/220, 34d. As compared with last week’s quotations, wethers, ewes, and beef are l-8d cheaper. The market is quiet. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received tho following cablegram, from their London house, dated February 3: Lamb—New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, North Island, light (new season’s), 10 l-8d; heavy, 9d; anj- change in market is in favour of buyers. Limited demand. Mutton —New Zealand prime crossbred mutton, North Island light (new season’s), 7d; heavy, 6d; market dull, but stocks are light; moderate demand. Beef—New Zealand prime ox beef, hinds, 4d; fores, 34d. Plentiful supplies of chilled beef continue at low prices. Market nominal. Australian frozen meat—Good average quality crossbred lamb, light, ltd; market weak; poor demand. Good average quality crossbred mutton, light, 4Jd; market very dull, limited demand. Pork: Market unchanged. DAIRY PRODUCE. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated February 3: Butter—Danish has boon selling forward, but now demand slow and f.o.b. prices reduced to-day 6/; meantime Australian has been quiet, while there has been hardly any demand for New Zealand since the beginning of December, excepting second-hand sales below current quotations. Wo quote: Danish, 188/ (ISO/); New Zealand, 174/ (174/)* first grade, 172/ (172/);' -Australian finest, unsalted, 172/ to 174/ (170/ to 174/); salted, 168/ to 170/ (166/ to 170/). Cheese —New Zealand market slow; Canadian steady. We quote: New Zealand finest, white, 94/ (94/); coloured, 95/ (96/); first grade, 'white, 93/ (93/); coloured, 94/ (94/); spot price for Canadian white and coloured, 94/ to 100/ (94/ to 100/).
