FIRST MEETING OF THE VEAL,

The first Meeting of the year of the Masterton branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held in Knox Hall on Thursday afternoon last, the president, Mrs. J. tCocker presiding over a good attendance. Mescames Cocker and Smith were appointed to represent the Masterton union at the district executive meeting to be held at the Hutt on February 10. The matter of the sub-division of the Wellington area was discussed and it tsas agreed to empower the officers attending the district executive meeting to vote at their discretion. Miss Jackson was appointed to attend the Dominion convention to be held at Auckland in March as the union delegate. It was decided to hold a shop day on the third Wednesday in April in order to make provision for donations and subscriptions falling due to the various funds.
