MAORIS IN CANADA.
MATCH AGAINST VANCOUVER UNIVERSITY. VANCOUVER, February 2. Four thousand saw the Maoris pile up a count of twelve points to the University's three in a Rugby match. The ‘contest was clean and fast and frequently brilliant. The University held the New Zealanders for eleven minutes, when the first try was register ed. Before the end of the spell two more tries were added, none of which were converted. In the second half each side scored a try. The visitors declare that the University’s tackling was equal to any they have encountered. This earned the University the right to place five men in tho All-British Columbia team f*>r the match next Saturday. For the Maoris, Gemmell, Maniahera, Tatana, and Grace scores tries; for the University, Wells.—(Sydney “Sun.").
