MASTERTON SALE. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: We offered a medium yarding of sheep to a good attendance. There was a good enquiry for both b.f and w.f. lambs, and these sold at prices better than last week. Cull ewes met with a dull sale, and sold on a par with late sales. Following* are our prices: w.f. lambs (shorn), 14/10; small w.f. lambs, 10/; 2-th wethers, 20/; cull ewes, 5/6 to 8/. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their Masterton sale held yesterday as follows: We submitted a fair entry of sheep and cattle to a good attendance of buyers and farmers. Our entry of sheep comprised aged ewes in low condition. Competition for this class was not very keen. However, we made a total clearance under the hammer at satisfactory prices. We quote: Aged ewes in low condition, 5/3 to 7/3; better conditioned aged ewes, 8/6 to 9/1; cull lambs, 7/9; 4-year bullocks, £6 17/ 6; 3-year steers, £5 12/; 2-year steers, £4 7/; store cows in good condition, £3 7/; 15-mth. P.A. heifers, £3; aged store cows, £1 13/ to £1 15/.

The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Distributing Co. report on their Masterton sale as follows: We offered a small yarding of sheep to a moderate attendance of buyers. Competition at auction was dull, several lines being passed, but we were successful in disposing of a few pens at the following prices. Good b.f. rape lambs, 18/6; woolly lambs, 15/; mixed aged ewes, 12/6; cull ewes, 7/6.

Pigs: 6 weaners, 12/6. Cattle: 9 P.A. and Hereford heifers, £4 13/6; 6 15-mths steers, £3 6/; 5 steers, £4 5/; 1 fat cow, £5 5/; 6 store eows, £2 1/. CLEARING SALE. The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Distributing Co., report: We held a most successful sale on account of Mr. R. Judd, Iharaua on Tuesday. We offered 2500 sheep and lambs to a fair attendance of buyers. Competition for all lines of ewes was fairly keen, but lambs were somewhat lower than recent sales. We report having sold the whole yarding of sheep, with the exception of one pen of lambs, at the following prices: 2-th ewes, 27/3; 4-tn ewes, 25/3 to 25/9; 6-th ewes, 24/2; 4-year ewes, 19/6, 5-year ewes, 15/; cull ewes, 10/; b.f, rape lambs, 17/9; medium woolly lambs, 11/; shorn lambs. 11/6; 2-th wethers, 20/; 2 and 4-th Romney rams, 31 gns; aged do, 20/. PAHIATUA SALE. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on the Pahiutua sale as follows: A full yarding ef sheep was submitted to a medium attendance. Competition was very dull, due partly to the absence of outside buyers and probably also to the slight fall which has taken place in rat lambs. Quito a large portion of the yarding -was passed at auction, although a number of lines were quitted after the sale. Following is the range ef prices: Good 2-th wethers, 21/; eull wethers, 14/; good b.f. rape lambs, 17/; w.f. woolly lambs, 13/; eull lambs, 7/ to 9/. JUST MIDDLING. How do you feel? Just middling?
