WORKMEN’S FRIEND NO. 1.
DIRECTORS MEET.
The monthly meeting of directors of the Workmen’s Friend No. 1 Building Society was held last night. Mr. W. H. Jackson presided, and there wore also present: Messrs L. B. Braggins, F. J. Hunn, T. Jenkins, R. E. Jones, H. J. O’Leary, A. E. Winzcnbcrg, and A. B. Wood. After transaction of routine business and adopting the finance report, investments of members’ appropriations were approved and payments off agreed to.
The balance-sheet for the year ended December 31, 1926, certified to by the auditors, was authorised to be printed p.nd the preparation and printing of the report was left in the hands of the chairman and secretary.
It was decided to hold tho annual meeting of the society on Wednesday, February 23, and this being the twenty-first meeting, it was arranged to prepare a brief review of tho operations of the society and its beneficial work for its members. NO. 2 SOCIETY.
The directors of the Workmen’s Friend 'No. 2 Building Society held their monthly meeting last evening, Mr. W. H. Jackson presiding. There were also present: Messrs H. J. O’Leary, T.B. Braggins, T. Jenkins, A. E. Winzcnbcrg, W. Kemp, F. J. Hunn, R E. Jones, and A. B. Wood. Routine business was transacted and it was reported that moneys were coming in freely. It was decided to hold tho annual meeting on March 30, when a ballot will probably be held.
The secretary was directed to reply to enquiries by two shareholders in regard to the conditions for withdrawal.
