WEATHER REPORTS.
Masterton.—Mr. R. Brown reported at 9 a.m. yesterday:—Barograph, 29.60, unsteady. Shade temperature, maximum 81.6, minimum. 51.4; terrestrial, 42.6; bright sunshine, 3hr 30min; rainfall, 24 points. Temperature at Ift in the ground has dropped three degrees since Monday. Solway.—Mr. H. M. Boddington reports that rain was measured on seven days in January, the maximum fall being 67 points on the 14th; minimum, 8 points, on the sth; total for month, 1.64 inches, as against 1.13 (1926), 2.37 (1925), 1.36 (1924), 6.85 (1923), 5.02 <1922). Forecast; Present indications are for stroi?ZL_ northerly to westerly winds; weather unsettled and cloudy generally, warm and sultry in the East Coast districts, rain probable on all the West Coast and southern districts and heavy in Westland; the barometer has a further falling tendency. Lighting-up time—7.43 p.m.
