MASTEKTON STOCK SALE.
The New Zealand Farmers' Cooperative Distributing Co., Ltd., report on their Masterton salo as follows: —We had a good yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle. A good attendance of buyers was present, but the bidding at auction was dull, and we had to pass a few liiio3 at auction, but were successful in dispos ing of all passed-in lots by private treaty at tho following prices:—Good 4-year ewes 28s, 5-year ewes 22s Gd to 23s 3d, f.ru. ewes 12s Cd, 13s to 20s, small 2-tooth owes 20s 3d, 2-tooth wethers 23s 3d to 25s 6d. Fat lambs 21s Bd, 23s 6d to 23s 7d, forward ewes 23s to 245, good shorn wether lambs 19s, small shorn lambs lis 7d, cull ewes 9a 6d to lis 7d, small yearlings £1 15s, 2-year heifers £4 10s, cow and calf £6 10s. Half-draught mare £ls, sheep dogs £5 to £ll, unbroken hack £5. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., report on their weekly Masterton sale as follows: —Wo offered a heavy yarding of sheep to a fair attendance of buyers. Our wholo entry of over 2000 sheep was sold tinder the hammer at the following prices:—Forward ewes 2os to 26s Id, 4 and Syr ewes 18s 6d to 20s, cull ewes 12s 8d to 15s 9d, 2-tooth ewes 15s Id to 22s 4d. The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd., Stock Department, report on their Masterton sale, held yesterday, as follows:—We yarded a good entry of Bheep and cattle to a fair attendance, but, although all stock was harder to quit than Last week, we disposed of tho bulk of the entry. Quotations: —Sheep: Two-tooth wethers 26s 9d, e.m. ewes 18s, w.f. lambs (small) 13s 9d, fat and forward ewes 23s lOd, fat b.f. lambs (good) 265. Cattle: 18-months steers P.A. and Hereford £5 to £6, 18-months empty heifers P.A. and Hereford £3 16s, £4 8s to £5, 2}yr bullocks (small) £6 17s 6d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report on heir Masterton sale as follows : We had a small entry of sheep and cattle Prices were not quite up to recent sales for sheep. Cattle sold fairly well. We quote:—Medium lamb.s 13s 9&, cull lamba 10s 6d, Hereford weaners £6 7s, bucket reared weaner steers 345, heifers £2 3s, m.s. weaners 30s.

(ifr Telegraph—.Press Association., ' CH.UISTCHURCH, Last Night. At the Addington market there was again a big yarding of all classes oi stock, excepting lambs, which are now coming forward in reduced numbers. The market generally was firm, though not so good as at tho last sale. Store Sheep.—A slightly smaller yarding, wh'.cb met with weaker demand. Forward lambs 20s to 23s 6d, ordinary 15a to 19s 6d, culls 7s to 14s 6d, ewe lambs 20s to 265,' good twotooth ewes 31s 6d to 365, ordinarj two-tooths 23s 6d to 31s, cull twotooth 14s 3d to 22s 6d, good four, sis and eight-tooth 30s to 355, ordinarj do. 26a 6d to 295, low conditioned do. 19s to 23s 6d, failing mouthed ewe* 16s to 218 6d, sound mouthed 22s 9c to 80s, good six and eight-tooth 27 1 6d to 29s 6d, good two-tooth wethers--27a 6d to 30s 6d, ordinary two-tooth 21s 6d to 275. Fat Lambs.—3loo were yarded, compared with 4400 last week. Tht quality varied, and on account of onlj two companies competing, and thai only to a limited extent, was slight easing in values. Extra prime lambs 34a 6d to 375, prime 25s 9d to 33t 6d, medium 26s to 28s 6d, light and unfinished 17s to 24s 9d. Fat Sheep. —A large yarding, which included a number of pens of excellently finished wetherß. The tops oi one draft touched 565, and several others exceeded 50s. Easier trade showing. A later demand from butchers and r.n spite of the smaller proportion going to freezing buyers tht market was fair throughout. Extra prime wethers made 44s to 565, prime 38s 8d to 43s 3d, medium 33s 6d to 375, lighter 28s 4d to ,32s 9d, extra prime ewes to 44s 9d, prime 37s to 425, medium 32s to 35a 6d, lighter 24s 3d to 80s 6d. Fat, Cattle.—446 yarded. The sale was good for prime quality until neat J the finish, when values eased. Freezl f<ng buyers were less in evidence | than usual. Extra prime steers £24 7s 6d to £26 10s, prime £l9 15s to £24, medium £ls 10s to £l9, lighter £8 to £l4, prime heifers £l3 to £l6 ss, ordinary £7 10s to £l2 10s, prime cows £l3 10s to £l7 10s, ordinary and inferior £7 to £l2 15s.
Dairy Cattle.—A big entry, which met with good inquiry. Heifers £lO to £l6, and second and third calvere £lO 10a to £2O. Store Cattle.—Three-year steers to £lO 15s, cows to £9, bulls to £ll. Vealers. —A good entry and strong demand. Runners made to £B. Pigs.—A medium entry, which met with a fair demand. Extra heavy baconers to £8 13s 6d, heavy £7 to £7 10s, ordinary £5 15s to £6 15s; average price per lb lOfd to lid. Heavy porkers £4 10s to £5 7s, ordinary £3 15s to £4 ss; average price? per lb Is o*d- Choppers £6 to £9 15b. A big yarding of store pigs, for which the demand was slack, there being a drop in values. Best stores £3 9a to £3 15s, medium £2 8s to £2 18b, Bmall stores 28s to 455, weanera 14s 6d to 25g
