Bates wired follows last night:—Atmospheric pressure has juled in the south, with cold and changeable leather, but a cyclone passing in the north has been' responsible for south east gales and stormy conditions in and northwards of Cook Strait. Heavy rain and floods havo occurred in the far north and east coast districts of the North Island. The present indications are for strong and squally south-east to south-west winds. and cold and changeable weather generally, with heavy showers in the northern and east coast districts. The barometer will rise everywhere.
