< The Now Zealand Farmers' Cooperative Distributing Co;, Ltd., report having held a horse sale in the Colombo Road yards on Saturday, March 27:—We had an entry of about 50 horses, comprising mostly unbroken ;half-draughts and hacks. Competition !for any young horses, either brake Poroses or good hacks, was fa|rly keen, but any aged horses were hard to quit. The bu**. of the entry offered was sold at tho following prices: Good brake or express, horses £lO 10s, £l2, £l4, £l4 10s, £ls, £ls 10s to £l6 10b,« unbroken hacks £4, £4 10s, £5, £6, £6 ss, £8 to £O, ponies £5 to £B, aged hacks £1 ss, £1 10s to £3 ss. - PONGAEOA SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on their Pongaroo, sale, held on Thursday:—We .submitted a very heavy yarding of sheep to a good attendance of buyers. Good quality wethers and lambs were in keen demand. Medium ewes were' not so keenly sought after. Some splendid quality ewes were penned, and for these there was good competition. Wo quote: 4 and 5-year ewes 27s 6d, 2 and 4-tooth ewes 22s 6d, 5-year ewes aged ewes lis 6d to 14s, m.s. 2-tooths 26s 6d, 2-tooth wethers 27s lid to 29s 6d, shorn wether lambs 17s Id, shorn ewe lambs 17s 7d, m.s. lambs lis to 15s 6d, cull lambs 8s to 9s Id, 2J-year Hereford heifers £9, 18-month steers £4 18s.
