ALLEGED PROFITEERING
DEMONSTRATION AT WANGANUI (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANTJI, Last Night. A big demonstration of protest against the cost of living and profiteering was held this afternoon, and was attended by about' vfour thousand people, representative of all walks of life in the town The proceedings were most orderly, and were marked by earnestness. -Speeches were delivered by Mr W. A. Veitch, M.P., Mr Foster (representing the railwaymen and returned soldiers), and the Revs. Blamires and* Jenkin. A resolution was unanimously carried, protesting againßt the increased cost of living, and demanding that the Government take adequate measures at the earliest moment to give relief to the people by preventing, profiteering.
