MINING CRISIS.
A Critical Situation
AN ABORTIVE CONFERENCE. Received Last Night, 11.5 o 'clock. LONDON, March 24. The Miners' Executivo had a five hours' ctinference with tho Coal Controller. , Later, Mr. Hodges described the situation as most critical. ; Several offers were made, but the desired increase of three shillings per shift was not granted. The result will be reported to a conference of delegates to-morrow, which is bound to gtfavely consider the whole position.
