I Mr. W. W. Ridgley, who has been for seven years stationmastor at Mercer, has been transferred to a simi 'ar position at Pahiatua. Mr. C. P. JByian, formerly chief clerk at Woodville, has succeeded Mr. Kidgley as itatiomnaster at Mereer. • Mr. Horace Moore-Jones, the ■well known Auckland artist, left for Sydney by the Atua. At the request of the Federal Government, ho is tak ing with him the originals of hie famous Gallipoli pictures, the Australian authorities-desiring to arrange for their reproduction to perpetuate the memory of Anzac deeds.
