PALMERSTON NORTH MYSTERY
INQUEST OPENED. (By TVlpgraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Last Night. The Coroner's inquiry was opened to-day concerning the circumstances under which Mary Etheline Webby, a married woman, met her death, the body having been found with the throat cut on Thursday morning, last in an unformed'street between Fitzroy and Ruahinci Streets. Medical evidence as to the wound was given. The abdominal organs were quite healthy. There were no other marks on the body. Considerable force must have been used to effect the injury. Witness thought it possible that the wound could have been self-inflicted, but the absence of any instrument would preclude this theory. Considerable evidence was given by Witnesses who saw deceased during the day. Further evidence' was given by Percy Daniel Wills as to seeing deceased in the company of a man near to where the body was found on the "evening preceding the* tragedy. Next morning he found deceased's body, and informed the police. ' At this stage Ijre inquest was adjourned till Tuesday next. f
