j ACQUISITION OF FREEHOLD. i (By Telegraph—Praßa Association) ! TE KUITI, Last Night. The Government proposals for lessees acquiring the freehold in Native townships offer an alternat've; the Government will buy the Natives' interest in the lease, first entering into an agreement with the lessee to purchase. The lessee can buy outright for cash, or pay 60 per cent down and nineteen instalments of- jj. per ce«t. After not'fication that |Pfrls" tive Purchase Board has bougnt- tbo land, the lessee will be given six ,'- months in which to complete if buy-' ' ing outright, or make the first payment under the instalment plan. The price will be the amount paid the Natives plus 2J per cent to cover Government's cost of acquiston. The proposals were considered by a conference last night, and'.were thought to be satisfactory on the whole. '
