SALE OF PICTURES

There was a good attendance at the Drill Hall, Masterton, yesterday, when the N.Z. Farmers' Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., held an auction sale of works of art on behalf of Mr M. McCormick. The bidding was exceedingly brisk, espec : ally for the water colours, which were sold at prices ranging from 2gns up to 15J gns. The etchings realised Ign to lljns, the total amount being in the vicinity of £350. The unsold portion of the pictures will be on view all this week for private sale. Inspection is invited.
