FROZEN MEAT TRADE
THE PROPOSED CONFERENCE.
(By Telegraph— Association.) WELLINGTON, Last.Night.
As a result of a recent discussion by the Board of Agriculture, in conjunction with invited delegates from the different interests, upon the question of frozen meat and shipping, it was arranged that a further and larger, conference should be held at an early date, and the Farmers' Union, Agricultural and Pastoral Associations, Shcepowners' Union, and Freezing and Dairy Associations were invited to select delegates to attend this conference. It had been anticipated that it would bo held before Easter, but circumstances have arisen which necessitate a postponement until after the Easter holidays. One important matter for discussion is the question of shipping conditions and freights when the time comes for Dominion produce to be sold in the open market. The shipping companies were communicated with, but, owing to the position not yet being clear, not able to furnish the information necessary to enable the proposed discussion on these points to be carried out to the best advantage. They have, however, intimated that they will communicate further as soon as they are in a position to do so.
