THE STRATFORD SEAT.
The faot that Mr. Masters has been unseated for the Stratford electorate on what was more or less a technicality will necessarily gain for him a great deal of support and sympathy in the by election that is to ensut. . The Government is particularly anxious that Major Hino should regain the seat, in order that the Ministry may not lose his services. But what is of greater importance at the present juncture is that a strong and virile Opposition should be in existence. The loss of the Stratford seat would not imperil the Ministry. But it would give Mr. Massoy a preponderance of strength that would not be in the best interests of the Dominion. In view of all the circumstances, the. Stratford electors will probably again elect Mr. Master,* to the seat.
