NOTES BY "BEE."
Mr W. R. Kemball won two races, and got a second and a third at (Saturday's meeting at Opaki.
The investments on the last race at Opaki on Saturday were over £4OOO, and constituted a record for the course.
The winning jockeys at the Masterton meeting were as follow: —A. Reed (two), 'Bagby (two), R. Reed, O'Shea, Tucker, and McFlynn (one each).
The jockey J. Olsen ,was badly shaken when his mount. Parorangi fell with him in the Telephone Hack Handicap at Opaki on Saturday. He also sustained several nasty facial abrasions. T. Pritchard was little the worse for his fall.

HANDICAP WON BY RED RIBBON
The Masterton Racing Club's autumn meeting was held on Saturday' in fine weather, and with a very large attendance. The rain of tho previous two nights had made the course in excellent condition, and some good racing resulted. The whole of the arrangements were Well carried out, and the meeting was one of the most successful ever held by the Club. The totalisatof investments amounted | to £23,614 10s, an increase of about £SOOO on the same meeting last y"ear. Reed) 7.7, 11 Festivity (Johnson) 7.4. The start was delayed through Sir Wai playing up. ,The big field moved away as one, but was soon strung out, Silk Rein being in front. On entering the straight Fortune Teller asserted herself, and coming away > won by a clear length. Kildee, who came with a.late run, was, a head behind Celmisia. Gold Pan was prominent in the straight, and' ran fourth. The high priced Vasilkov was never sighted. Time, lmin 3secß.

The horses were "bunched for about three furlongs, when Parorangi and Galore lost their riders! The favourite rushed to the front, and stalling off a challenge by Mosthenes won by two clear lengths. Astinome quickly got a break on the field, and was leading by four lengths at the four furlongß post. Bonetter came at the leader, but died at the. finish. I Chimera and Torfreda next set sail, but could noi catch the Maniapoto mare, which won by a length, with Chimera and Torfreda a dead heat for secopd place. Bonetter was fourth. From an even start Rose Wreath quickly assumed command, and led the field at a merry pace, Dainty Step being handy. Nearing the straight Red Ribbon came on the outside, and simply left tho field, winning by two clear lengths, with Multaine a length away third. Wishful was last. Time, 2min 8 1-5 sees.
