A recent interesting wedding took place at Christ Church, Wanganui, : when Dr. EJspeth Cameron, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Alan Cameron, of Marengai, was married to Captain R. S. J. Fitzgerald, N.Z.M.C., son of Dr. and Mrs Fitzgerald, of Dunedin. The Ven. Archdeacon Reeve officiated. The bride wore a gown of ivory georgette over silk crystalline,, draped at one side with filet lace. The corsage was of lace and georgette, and the train of lace over pale pink was edged with ostrich feather trimming. Her tulle veil was worn over a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of white lilies and asters with asparagus fern. M'ss Barbara' Cameron and Dr. Tui Bakewe,Jl were bridesmaids, the former wearing a frock of heliotrope georgette falling straight from the shoulders, edged with ostrich feather trimming of the same shade, and the latter in buttercup yellow georgette. Both wore mob caps of net to correspond with the colour of their frocks, and carried bouquets of contrasting colours. There were also in attendance upon the bride Miss Jean Cameron and Miss L. Fitzgerald, who wore frocks of frilled ivory net with sashes«of heliotrope tulle, and caps of net, finished with wreaths of tiny | purplo roses. The train-bearers wore \ Miss Mary Cameron (cousin of the' bride) and little Billie Christie. Captain Fitzgerald, N.Z.M.C, brother of the bridegroom, was the best man, and Lieutenant Hutchison, of Dunedin, groomsman. T

oath as a Magistrate, being tho first Welsh woman to be placed on the Commission of Peace under the new Act. Mrs. Lloyd George sat on the Benth, and was congratulated by the LordLieutenant on her appointment, which he said he regarded as one of the greatest importance and fraught with the possibility of much good.

The death of Lady Williams recently at Bromley, England, severs one of the few remaining links with the first f.M.C.A. Born 87 years ago, Helei Hitchcock married, at the age of 21, George Williams, founder of the Y.M.C.A., who, beginning behind the counter as a draper's assistant, was already, at 32 years of age, partner in her father's firm in St. Paul's Churchyard, afterwards known as At Carnarvon Quarter Sessions recently, Mrs. Lloyd George took the Hitchcock and Williams.
