(Received Dec. 22, 9.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 22
Details of the wreck of the barque Labour d' Auvergne state that the captain boarded the Antiope off Palmerston Island on November 12th, and reported that his vessel struck a reef on the night of October 23rd. Next morning the crew of twentythree and a lady passenger, Mrs Pick, of Sydney, landed with the assistance of natives from the adjoining islands. Tents were pitched, and a plentiful supply of- food was available. All were well when the Antiope left, excepting the lady, whose mind wag stated to bo temporarily deranged through troubles attending the wreck.
The captain of the wrecked barque asked the Antiope to take all those marooned to Sydney, but this was impossible. He offered to take fifteen, but the offer was declined, the captain deciding to keep tho crew together in anticipation of the early visit of a schooner to the island whicb would convey them to Tonga. He asked the Antiope to report to the owners in Havre that the Latour d* Auvergne was broken amidshipsi, was full of water, and a wreck, and had been sold to a trader for £9O. '
