Taylor appeared set, when he returned a ball to Downey, who accepted. Sandman jumped out at a tempting thing and was stumped. Bennett played a brilliant innings, and had the misfortune to go out leg before to Barstow. The score increased to 161 when Patrick, who played sure cricket,.was caught by Rowe at leg, off Barstow. Queensland opened the second innings badly, Fennelly being clean bowled by Robinson's first ball. Farquhar and Rowe succumbed to Reese—3 for 7.

Prout and Marshall checked the rout, and the fourth wicket fell at 51.

The fielding of the visitors was very good, Hickmott being particularly brilliant.

The bowling was difficult, and at 71 the fifth wicket fell. ,- Two others went down before the score increased, Sandman securing three wickets within a few minutes.

Queensland's chances of winning were considerably diminished by the fine fielding of the visitors.
