PAHIATUA CATTLE FAIR
Messrs Abraham and -Williams, Ltd.. report on their second arrrnia. cattle fair at Pahifffcua on Iwesda.y, 16th inst., as followsAn exceptionally heavy yardiiig of cattle came forward considerably Hi of advertised riumbera by over 400 head, the "total entry being 1801, ot ■ which number we sold 1450. The attendance was not so large as at the November sale, but buyers from a distance were strongly represented from Hawke's Bay,' Manawatu, Ranptpi and Wairarapa, and a very spirited (&le resulted. The quality was better than anticipated, several pens ot well-grown bullocks being offered, and competition wais keen for anything showing frame and condition. Messrs .Humphries Bros., Akitio, tdpped the market with a pen or o< fresh conditioned 3 and 4-year binlooks of nice quality, the purchaser bein<v Mi- Ernest Short, at £9 Is. Other sales worthy of mention were on account of Messrs J. Moughan, 4-year bullocks, £8 and C. Scales £7 17s; and 3-year stoer.s on l>ehan of Messrs A. Koss £7 12s, T. Hodgina £7 10s, and Mark' Caselberg £7.
