The lie v. D» C. Bates, of tha Mdteorologioal office, last evening wired as follows: —
Moderate to strong 'south westerly winds have predominated, but a westerly gale is reported this evening at Stephen Island. Fair' to cloudy weather has been experienced generally, and showers on the West Coast and in the soxith. The barometer has risen everywhere. Present indications are for vvariable t and strong winds, with westerly breezes predominating, the weather condition being changeable, fair to cloudy generally, but showery on the West Coast and southern districts, the barometer showing little movement. *
