Mr and Mrs I' . Evans, Lansdowne, left Mastorton yesterday afternoon 011 a short holiday to Tiniaru.
Miss Hindharsh, of Napier, is string with* her sister, Mrs feclanders, (Jole street.
An interesting wedding took place in the Methodist Church, Masterton, yesterday, the contracting paitics being Alias Mary Ryan Redman (Rixon), adopted daughter of Mr I'. T. Redman, of this town, and Mi Ebeuezer Martin Swinerd, only son of Castor E. Ewinerd, of Masterton. The bride, who was given away by Mr F. T. Redman, was handsomely attired in a dress of cream ninon and honiton lace, the bodice being made of laco and ninon, the orthodox veil and orange blossoms also being worn. The bride was attended by Miss V. Redman, dressed in pink silk draped with crepe de chine, and wearing a white hat, trimmed with pink tulle aad pale pink rosea, Miss Andrew, of Auckland, who wore a dress of cream silk with hat to match and Miss Winnie Smith, in a white dress, with white crepe de chine hat. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a greenstone brooch, and to the bridesmaids gold , brooches. Pastor Swinerd, assisted by the Rev. S. J. Serpell, conducted the wedding service, and Mr J. Heaven was best man. Master Stanley Smith acted as page. After tlio ceremony a reception was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs J. Rixon, Michael street. The presents received by the happy couple were numerous and costly. Mr and Mrs Swinerd left by the afternoon train for tlio south, whoie I the honeymoon will be spent.
Miss Perry, .Kiwitea, is visiting Mrs Alec Perry, Rongomai.
The pupils of Miss Le Lievre and Miss Turnor. Eketaliuna, gave a most enjoyable musical evening on Tuesday. The programme was an excellent one, tiio vocalists being exceptionally good.
