CHRISTMAS PREPARATIONS

It is characteristic of the W.F.C.A. to be always? in the van of commercial enterprise, and to such an .extent have the firm persevered that not only in the town but in the country districts as Well news of the Christmas preparations is awaited with eagerness. The interior of the extensive establishment is now a hive of industry. There may be aeen displayed all those delicacies which go to make households happy and contented at Christmas time. Boxes of figs and of Cadbury's well known chocolate, Santa Clans stockings of all dimensions, Huntley and Palmer biscuits in fancy, tins> .shortbreads, muscatels, aultanas, raisins, etc., are all displayed in great profusion. Then there are Peak Frean plum puddings of excellent manufacture, Pascal's confections, bon-bons, cosques, and a hundred and one other enticing lines. Christmas would not be Christmas without a well-cured ham, and in .this connection the "W.F.C.A. have one of the finest stocks of the celebrated "Morepork" brand that could be fdund in the province. Cheeses of every description —Stilton, Gorgjonzola, Taylor's old port, and other varieties—are prominently displayed. Crystallised fruits of all kinds, including apricot®, clferries, strawberries, raspberries, etc., occupy a prominent position, whilst fruits of every conceivable brand, and all the condiments which are in request at the festive season are displayed in a pleasing manner. The joy of the juvenile heart is revealed in thousands of dolls and trinkets and fancy goods, and the magnificent display of summer garments, with the choice millinery and etceteras so dear to feminine kind, go to make up a Christmas display which will have few rivals in the Dominion. The W.F.C.A. has something for everybody. Santa Clans is busy _at work, dispersing his favour's toi rich andj poor, large and small, old and young. And, if everybody is not nap*py it will not be the fault of the W.F.C.A.
