Mr T. Jacobsen, formerly of Maiptinborough, but now of Dannevirke,' is to be married at Dannevirke today to Miss Smith, of Tawaha. Mr G. R. Sykes, M.P., returned to Masterton yesterday, having completed his Parliamentary duties in Wellington. Mr Sykes leaves for Eketahuna to-day, Mr J. G. Beej of the staff of the Masterton District High School, leav- ; es to-day for a few days in Wellington, prior to his departure for Auckland arid the north. Mr H. Miller, of the Masterton District High School staff, will leave MasterToh to-morrow, per s.s. Victoria, on a trip to Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Mr Errol Meredith Mackersey, of Mrs Mackersey, of Masterton, been advised that lie has been successful in passing the second section of tfie 17!L.8 m in the recent University examinations. In the November law examinations of the N.Z. University, Mr E. J. Chennells, of. Masterton, passed in. four subjects, Mr H. R. Bliss in three, Mr R. McKenzie in three, ami Mr R.' J. Thompson in five. Mr Alex Gow, for two years stationmaster af. Featberston, has received notice of liis transfer to Ngalianranga., Mr Ivearnev, from Ngaliatiranga, will succeed Mr Gow, who takes up his -new'appointment almost immediately. An interesting visitor to Wanganr a't present (says the Chronicle) is Mr _ E. Moon, postmaster of Te Ora, Rag-Jo| lan. Mr Moon is without the uso of his liandsj but he makes his feet serve the purpose pqually well, and. while he writes in a style that a good many miglit envy, he also draws and paints with no mean skill.
