NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. 0. Bates, o! the Meteorological office, last evening wired as follows: m The barometer has fallen everywhere, and is very low this afternoon about Cook Strait. Variable and strong winds have prevailed' especially over the North Island, and cloudy and misty weather with heavy rain is-reported in many parts of the Dominion. ■» Present indications are for high westerly winds, changing to increasing southerly, over the North Island, and southerly gales elsewhere soon with cold and misty weather, with heavy rain probable generally, .snow on the higher levels and the rivers flooded. The barometer will rise everywhere soon.
