SOCIAL NEWS AND FASHIONS.
A London cable states that the Hon. John Boyle, the Earl of Glasgow's son, was married to Miss Mar-
garet Hodges, daughter of Mr Justice Hodges, of Victoria, at the Brompton Parish Church. Many society folk were present.
Mrs and Mies McGregor, Hikorangi, are spending a short holiday in Wellington..
Mrs O. Cooper returned - yesterday from a few days spent in Wellington.
Miss Dolly Allen, the younger daughter of the Hon. James Allen, Minister of Education, is leaving New Zealand next March for an indefinite period. It is Miss Allen's intention to study' the Montessorri system of education under the celebrated teacher at Rome, and it is probable that on her return to the Dominion Miss Allen will take up the profession of teaching.
Mrs Earle, sen., of Wellington, is on a short visit to Greytown.
JUJ.S W. James has returned-to Wei lington from her-visit to.the Waira rapa.
