Forty Hindus who arrived from British* Columbia are held for deportation, despite the decision of the Supreme Court. Reports .received in Canada ' show large numbers of Hindus are awaiting action by the Dominion before leaving India. Public bodies in British Columbia are urging the Government at Ottawa to enact stringent laWs.

An agitation f<sr the enforcement of an unrecognised clause of the Im-» migration Act authorising the Federal Government to exclude undesirables has been strengthened by the publication of official figures showing that Chines© are pouring in at the rate of six hundred monthly, despite the five hundred dollar poll tax. The exclusionists demand a straightforward exclusion policy.

The Federal Court has desided that Hindus arriving from, the Philippines and claiming entrance to the 1 United jStates oarinoffc be received, and lias ordered the deportation of twentyfour. It is understood the case will be carried, to the Supreme Court.'
