FIRST PUBLIC APPEARANCE,

(By - Tdtgraph.'—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The visiting American athletes were present at the Waikanae sports on Saturday, and were seen out in so*ne o£ the events. The track, however, .was very rough, and the men were evidently not at their best. Although they won various running «vents, their opponents were of such poor quality generally that the results formed no guide as to the Americans' capabilities.
