A DELICATE POSITION.
OBJECTIVE OF INDIAN AGITATORS.
Times'—'Sydney Sun' Special Cables. (Received Last Night, 6.40 o'clock.) LONDON. December 6. Sir West Ridgway, in a letter respecting the Indians in Africa, states that they aVe merely pawns in the game. The objective the Indian agitators have'in view is, he says, full civil and political rights in every part t)f the Empire, wherever Indians may choose to reside. He alleges that the grievances in Africa are only being used as stepping-stones towards a policy that is pregnant with peril to the Empire. "We are," he says, •treading on ground that ifi full of pitfalls, and our Government must walk with the delicacy of Agog. Any undue interference in Africa, or any attempt at coercion, will be resenteu by the whole of the dominions, for. on this question, they will stand ehoulder to shoulder."
