N.S.W. ELECTIONS.
More than ordinary interest is being centred in the New South Wales State elections, which take place today. The Labour Government, under Mr Holman, hag held office by the narrowest of -majorities, and the feeling is becoming more pronounced every day -flint it -.will have to give way to the Liberals. This feeling; is emphasised by the announcement this morning that the Roman Catholip vote, which is not .to be-disre-garded, is being cast in favour of the Liberals. It is " thought in some quarters that if the Labour Government is defeated, a general strike will be proclaimed early hext week, Possibly this would be the betet thing ttfax could happenNNetw t South Wales. Ever since Labour has "been controlling the politics of Australia, strikes have Tieen almost weekly occurrences. With a strong Government in power, such as we have m New Zealand, one big conflict would clear the atmosphereT and bring-the revolutionary 'element, to its senses. The pandering of Governirients to the extremists does more to create industrial unrest than all the social conditions that can exist in democratic communities. - ■•.-'-■;-•■' .'■■;.' ' ' V\ ;•• I ■
