< ■ The-■quarterly meeting, of ; the Wairarapa Licensing Committee was held , at Carterton on Thursday afternoon, Mr L. G. Reid. S.M., presiding. There was practically no business x except receiving the police reporte on all Wairarapa hotels. These were very good, no complaints ■ being made. : The Wiairarapa dairy factory suppliers have decided to levy .themselves to the extent of id per lb on ; 'the November supply of butter-fat. The money is to go towards the Farmers' Union and Defence Committee'e expenses. The wind-up dance of the season in connection with the ParkvaleHall was held on Wednesday night. Some 50 couples were present, and a really good time was spent. Messrs H. Crawley (piano), W. Kay (cornet), and Miss Jensen (violin) were the musicians, extras being played by Misses Poison, Knutson and Burgess. Mr F. Anderson was M.C. The ladies provided a very ta«.ty supi The Magistrate's Court was, occupied yesterday in hearing a charge l of indecent • exposure preferred against a'resident\in'the. Masterton district. After hearing a quantity of evidence, the Magistrate 1 dismissed the case. ' . • The local company of Senior Cadets were inspected on Wednesday evening by Major Temper ley, General Staff Officer. The inspector was very pleased with the efficiency of the company, and congratulated the officer in charge (Liciit. F. Roydhouse) N on, the work and appearance of the Cadets. ,
