(fly Telegraph — Fret* Ansociation.Y OYERCARGILL, Last NightAt the Police Court to-day Joseph Saliba, an Italian cook in a local hotel, was charged with obscene language, drunkenness, and assaulting Sergeant Bingham in the execution of his duty. Saliba waa arrested on Sunday night. He bntted Sergeant Bingham in the chest, besides causing a wound on his forehead Constable Hood came to Sergeant Bingham's assistance, and the accused kicked and knocked him down. Finally the man was overpowered, and walked to the police station. A remand was granted until Thursday, bail Iwnng allowed.
