DECLINE IN CONSUMPTION OF. BEER.
*Times' — 'Sydney Sun' Special Cables. (Received Last Night, 6.20 o'clock.) LONDON,. December 1. ' Trade statistics reveal an appreciable decline in the consumption of beer. In 1688 the average consumption was 81 gallons, against 26 gallons in 1912. The demand for spirits is ateo falling steadily, while cocoa and tea are increasing in popularity. Coffee is declining, but tobacco is rapidly rising.
