WAIRARAPA HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
SPBTXG SHOW.
(By Our Special Reporter.) The spring show under the auspices of the Wairarapa Horticultural Society was held in the Agricultural Hall, Cartertoin, on Saturday last. The show was a great success from every point of view, and the attendance was the best for a number of years. Proceedings in the evening ..were enlivened by selections-from the Masterton Pipe Band. Various com- ~" petitions were held, the nail-driving competition being won by Mrs Ratlibone.- Mra L. Knutsen and Mrs J. Standen tied in the competition for the weight of a dressed lamb, and divided the prize. In tables, there were 19 entries, Miss ▼ ■Payton, of Masterton, securing the first prize, Miss Broadbent second, and Mrs B. Trapp third. The bridal bouquet was won by Mrs B. Tarrant, of Masterton „ In children's classes there were a good many entries, the decorated table and bouquets being won. by Miss Nellie Tarrant, of Masterton. The exhibitors included Messrs' Eobinson and Sons, Mastertoil; Messrs P. Cooper, Ltd.. Wellington; Mr H. Poole, Wellington; and Messrs Weightman and Son, Peilding. The judges, were Messrs Poole and Weightman, cut flowers , and pdt plants; Mrs H. T. Wood, Masterton, decorated tables; Mrs D. M. Graham and Mrs O. Smith, Mas-' tertpn, fancy work; Mrs W. Martin and Mrs R; H. Baillie, Martinboiough, home A.-
