The opening event of the Wairarapa Amateur Swimming Club for theseason was got off last evening in the Masterton Park Lake. The result was as follows: — 50 Yards Handicap.—G. Forman (3 sec) Ist; G". Permain (sse<A 2nd; three competitors dead-heated for third place. Eight competitors started. Time, 41 l-osec.
