THE ALPASS ESTATE.
IMPORTANT SUBDIVISION SALE
That there is a keen demand for land in all parts of the North Island, and more particularly in the Wairarapa, has been demonstrated by the insistent demands made upon the Government for the acquisition of estates. While the Government finds it inconvenient, for financial and other reasons, to meet these demands, it is satisfactory to note "that private properties are coming into the market on such terms as to make them available to men of limited means. The "Alpass" estate, in the Alfrcdton district, which embraces 2300 acres of magnificent country, sub-divided into four farms ranging in area from 500 to 900 acres, is to be offered at auction by Messrs Abraham and Williams in Masterton on Thursday next. The estate, which is served by a splendid road, and is within five miles of Alfredton township and seventeen miles of-the railway, has been wintering for several years past l£ sheep to the acre, besides 300 head of cattle. It is, therefore, admirably adopted for either sheep "or cattle. The terms on which the property is to be sold are' particularly attractive. Only 10 per cent deposit has to be paid, with 10 per cent in February next, the bal--ance being spread over a period of five years at the easy rate of o% per cent. An opportunity such as this for securing-a..good farm on reasonable terms has not been presented in the Wairarana for a considerable period. In addition to the farm propertv, Messrs Abraham and Williams will-offer" a number of town properties in the same estate, some of which are built upon. The sale, altogether, U ore of the most important that has taken place in the Wairarapa for some time.
