RELEASE OF STRIKERS

DEMANDED BY TRADKS COUNCIL.

(Received Last Night, o'clock.) LONDON, November 15. 'J'lie Trades Council, representing 20,000 organised Bristol workers, interviewed the Right Hon. A. Birrell, demanding in violent language, the release of Dublin strikers. Mr Widdieombe, vice-president of the council, in a bitter speech, charged the Government and particularly Mr Birrell with being directly responsible for brutal murders in Ireland. Mr Birrell interpreted tlio accusation as tantamount to calling the Government and; the authorities scoundrels. Mr Widdieombe: Hear, hear. Mr Birrell said if such were Mr Widdieombe's opinion it was useless for the deputation to approach him. He denied that the police were at the employers call. He assured them, that a judicial inquiry would be held. NO LOCK-OUT. EMPLOYERS' MANIFESTO. (Received Last Night, 0.0 o'clock.) LONDON, Nocember 15. Dublin employers have issued a manifesto which declares that a large majority of the strikers were not locked out, but left their work, and refused their ordinary duties. There was no question of wages, hours, or conditions. The transporters was the only union to which the employers objected to, because the officials openly counselled the workers to break their agreements.
