PRESIDENT WILSON'S DETERMINATION.
TO ELIMINATE HUERTA
(Received Last Night, S.lO o'clock.) WASHINGTON, November 13. President Wilson has announced his determination to eliminate General Huerta by means of financial pressure, and failing that to initiate a blockade of Mexican sea ports.
POLICY FORMULATED.
INVASION IF NECESSARY
(Received Last Night, 10.5. o'clock.) WASHINGTON, November 13. President Wilson has formulated a policy in which he declares that the United States is prepared to invade Mexico if necessary, but he will first endeavour by means of financial pressure to secure General Huerta.'s "retirement.
Foreign investors are waned* tß&t obligations incurred-during the' present regime will not be recognised. If peaceful persuasion fails, a blockade of fhe Mexican ports will destroy the Customs revenue, and prevent importations of munitions of war. When General Huerta's elimination is secured, efforts will be directed to obtain a provisional president, acceptable to both sections, and will be under the protection of the United States until a general election provides a new congress and president.
President Wilson's declaration makes it clear that the United States will not acquire any territory as the result of her intervention.
A FINAL DEMAND
IGNORED BY HUERTA
Received This Morning, 12.30 o'clock. WASHINGTON, November 13. Mr Lrnd, American Ambassador to Mexico, has been ordered to notify General Huerta fhat if he does not agree to promptly prevent the newly elected Congress from meeting, the United States will thereupon break off all diplomatic relations. General Huerta has ignored the demand. " Mr' Lind has departed by special train. . '. •-'■<
