A STRANGE REQUEST.
PRISONER ASKS FOR LONGER SENTENCE.
Tiroes'— 'Sydney Sun' Special Cables. (Received Nov. 13, 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 12. A prisoner, who was sentenced to a -year's imprisonment at the Northumberland 'sessions for lorceny, applied to the Bench to increase the sentence to three years in order that it might have a proper corrective effect upon him. The Bench declared that it was impossible to comply with the request.
