NEW ZEALAND FORECAST.
WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. 0. Bates, of the Meteorological office, last evening wired as follows:
Cool and changeable weather has prevailed, with scattered showers. The barometric pressure has increasand southerly winds have continued, but with decreasing force generally. Present •indications arc for a predominance of fair and milder weather for a brief period, but the conditions are likely to become unsettled in the western and southernmost districts soon, and unsettled and squally weather will follow generally about the end of the week. The barometer will probably fall in about 16 hours, and the wind change to northerly, and increase everywhere. . ' " '
