BATHING AND HEALTH.
The daily washing of the entire body is conducive to /health and longevity. A - coid bath every morning is a line tonic if followed by a good reaction, but it is certainly injurious otherwise. Alter bathing give ihc' body a. vigorous rubbing with a dry coarse.towel. An occasional Turkish' bath will prove highly beneficial to the system, Close and impure air is | more provocative of,-throat-and chest complaints than cold or damp aid. Breathing vitiated air is a frequent cause of colds and headaches. »Every living room and bedroom should bewell ventilated. Windows open at the top do much to promote health and vigour. Drafts and damp, however, should be carefully avoided. To overcome a bad odour by means of disinfectants may be desirable, but it must be borne in mind that these do not always .purify the air. i
