A meeting of the general committee of the Wairarapa Horticultural and Industrial Society was held on Friday afternoon, Mr A. Bootli, prepdent. occupying ? tho chair. Special prizes were allotted to a number of classes, and it was arranged to hold a guessing competition during the show. Mr A. King generously donated a lamb for tlie purpose. The Wairarapa P. and A. Society ivrt>te grants ing tho use of the Agricultural Hall for the show oin Saturday, November 29. The following were appointed judges: —Messrs Weightman (I<eilding), H. Poole (Wellington), Mesdames Baillio and. W. Martin (Martinborough), and Mesdames 0. R. Smith and H. T. Wood (Masterton). The following wero appointed stewards:—Class 'l, 'Messrs' J'. 6. J. SnelU J. M. •Beecliey; class 2, Messrs W. H. Booth. A. L. Hadfield; class 3, Messrs J. M. Nicholls, J. C. Harp and E. Eagle jim; class 4, Messrs W. Abbott, A. King and E. Tunnicliffe; class 5, Mrs Hadfield and Miss Telford; c.la«s 6, Mesdames Cole and King; local productions, Mrs Eagle and Miss Feist; tea room, Miss Eva Booth, Mesdames Eagle, Beard, and Abbott. Several minor details were attended to, and the next nicety ing was fixed for Friday, November 21-st, There is not likely to be a shortage of flour in Carterton for some weeks to come. On Saturday one local baker landed three tons, and another baker has three tons arriving. Messrs Wakelin Bros., of the Star Roller Flour Mi" s , nr<? being kept busy, and as fast as flour can be made; it is beihg shipped away.
