Tfc is proposed, during tlio the American team to the Dominion, to hold lectures on American methods of training, etc,, illustrated hy lantern slides, in all the towns and where the American team will compete. Mr Wm. Unmaok, manager of the team, will be the lectxirer, and it is .proposed to hoid a lecture in Masterton befolse tho Ideal District High School breaks up for the mid-summer holidays. This series of lectures will luive a very- beneficial effect upon runners througliout tho Dominion, «nd will, no doubt, be eagerly looked forward to by local amateurs. j

The evening meeting held last Thursday was not remarkable for the size of the fields, and! it behoves local amateurs to turn out in far greater numbers if they wish to keep up llio reputation oi' the club on New Yeiir's Day, when competing against the American champions.

It has been suggested by members of the Amateur Club that a ladies' committee bo set up to act in conjunction with the men's committee in connection with tho entertainment to bo given..-by Messrs ThdmpsonPayno in the Electric Theatre at a date to be-fixed.. Any ladies desirous of helping the club will kindly hand their names to the secretary (Mr A. C. Bowman).
